HISTORY & BACKGROUND

CEM Scotland Ltd (SC210356) was first incorporated in August 2000 and initially specialised in Trailer Rental. In 2011 Alex McLean and Nicky Korankye acquired the shareholding of CEM and diversified the company into a one-stop-shop for commercial vehicle repairs. The company trade at their Coatbridge premises, which comprises: fully equipped workshops, fully equipped mobile vans and 5 acres of adjacent land for Trailer Parking.

COMPAINY AIM / OBJECTIVE

The company aims to offer high quality range of products and services and to provide a One-Stop-Shop for all its customers in the Road and Rail Transport Industry. CEM’s reputation is generally one of experience and integrity in a wide range of repair areas. Continual improvement is our objective. 

THE DIRECTORS 

Alex McLean, Managing Director. Alex is the technical, industry expert with vast knowledge of trailers and commercial vehicles, their make-up, how to repair them and how to alter them for a range of activities. He has many contacts from over 30 years’ experience in the industry and has an excellent eye for good business and profitable work. He has been developing used vehicle and trailer sales, in addition to improving procedures in the workshop. Alex’s hobbies include, fishing and pottering around in the garden, and has been known to have the odd tipple of malt whisky... 

Nicky Korankye, Financial Director. Nicky is also the Company Secretary and deals with all aspects of accounting, admin function, licence compliance, H&S and risk assessment. He works closely with external auditors, tax and VAT personnel and ensures cash flow, assets, investments, finance and banking arrangements operate efficiently. Nicky focuses on the costing of new ventures and opportunities to enable CEM to remain competitive. His hobbies include football, rugby and the odd tipple of brandy at the weekend.
